Advancement is a big part of Scouting. The goal of every boy is to work through the Tenderfoot and Second Class ranks to become a First Class Scout. A First Class Scout knows the ropes, how to take care of himself and others, and he's ready for high adventure and greater responsibility. He is prepared to continue work towards becoming an Eagle Scout as a leader in the Troop. Advancement includes earning Merit Badges that teach important life skills or just fun stuff like rock climbing, aviation, motor boating and lots, lots more.
